UPDATE 2/21: HB5905 failed to be “raised” before the deadline, which was today. The bill is dead for this session. Thank you for your support that made USARK’s work on this bill possible!
Connecticut House Bill 5905 would ban the trade of exotic animals and their parts.
It was referred to the Joint Committee on Environment and introduced by Rep. Kerry Wood.
Read the bill at https://www.cga.ct.gov/2025/TOB/H/PDF/2025HB-05905-R00-HB.PDF.
NOTE: In Connecticut, some bills wait to be accepted (“raised”) in Committee before the full bill text is brought forward. Currently, the “bill text” is only a summary of what the bill would do without full details, terms, definitions, etc.
We will have more information soon.
