The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has posted the below. We will have more details soon:
NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY – Florida: Wildlife Services (WS), a program within the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) titled “Managing Damage and Threats of Damage Caused by Nonnative Reptiles and Amphibians in the State of Florida”. The EA analyzes the potential environmental impacts of alternative approaches to WS involvement in nonnative reptile and amphibian damage management in Florida. The EA is available for review and comment prior to issuing a decision. The proposed action is to implement an integrated approach using a variety of methods to reduce nonnative reptile and amphibian damage to agricultural resources, property, and natural resources, and threats to human health and safety. WS is requesting that the public review and provide their comments on the EA by the end of the day on August 18, 2023.
