Black Pine Snake Comment Period 3.11.15

Black Pine Reopen 3.11.15

USFWS has announced a re-opening of the comment period regarding the Black Pine snake (Pituophis melanoleucus lodingi). They have recommend its listing as a “threatened” species under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) along with proposing a section 4(d) rule. 4(d) rules can be used to relax normal ESA restrictions and reduce conflicts between people and the protections provided to the threatened species. This new comment period will allow all interested parties an opportunity to comment simultaneously on the proposed listing rule as well as this proposed critical habitat rule and its associated draft economic analysis (DEA).
